RE: "All Boats Will be Inspected..."
Looking for the seed of the mussle....
Up here in Lake Co. CA, is it a verbal inspection!?!?!?!? No one ever lies about where they go.....
RE: 2010 Diesel Ford trucks with 70% better fuel mileage!
Damm, what kind of mileage does a ford get already?!?!? Since a 70% increase in fuel economy equals 70mpg....Hmmm, so the current Ford diesel is getting 49mpg!!!
So in short, the truck will get 70mpg, 700ish HP, 1200ft lb TQ, near no emissions, no moving parts, quiet.....WOW.....They could at least make the story somewhat believable!
RE: Engine Temp of New Diesel
If you are using the factory gauge, just remember it is not very accurate. On my 2004 I installed the Edge w/ Attitude, and that is what I use for my temp readings. Per the Edge, I normally run at 180deg F, I have seen up to 225 in the 110degF days pulling the long hills. It is well documented on the 2004.5-2005, that when they are overheating, the factory gauge is still not in the red. I wouldn't worry about your readings, my factory gauge won't even move while the Edge will swing 45 degs. Just how it is.
RE: Creative solution? Filling Fresh Water Tank Question
I would just be hooking a hose from the outside, open the dump valve, undo the fill cap, and turn the water on. On my trailer, the garden hose would be the restriction! I have a 1.5" dump valve!
RE: Creative solution? Filling Fresh Water Tank Question
This post just gave me a off the wall idea on how to fill my fresh water tank...
I'll make an adapter to hook to the fresh tank drain, and then fill it from the bottom up! That would get rid of my filling fresh tank issues!
Funny how ideas can come from weird things!
RE: Got Rid of MY Windows XP Machine today
Awe, here we go again!
Mac perfect, PC sucks. Bla Bla Bla!
Why do MAC users have to start post just to boost their ego?
Why do I have to deal with a show and tell any time there is somebody with a MAC?
I have yet to see any advantage to either platform that makes one or the other prefect! MAC, yes, better OS, better basic packages. But what happens if your video card goes out on a weekend? PC, parts are carried just about everywhere. PC, can be built and or pieced together as cheaply or as expensively as wanted.
RE: Is phone line necessary?
Here it goes again!
Dish Tv does not have a receiver currently that has to have a phone line hooked to it. If you don't have a phone line, you will need to have a phone bypass set up on your account. I currently have 2 HD/DVR's, neither of have a phone line hooked to them, and they work fine.
Also on the charge for the second tv, whoever sold this to you gave you bad info. If you have a dual you get a $5 charge for the second tv, if you hook that box into your phone line, Dish will discount the $5 charge.
RE: Scared Stupid!!!
9%!?!?!?!?
Is that all?
I have been up and down 14% grades, just take your time. If you have an auto, just put er down a gear or two or four, and let her creep. My dad went to Shelter Cove, CA, and he actually put his '01 Chevy DuraMax Allison 4X4 into low range 4x4 to keep the speed down.
If you are in first gear, on the brakes, and still burn the brakes, let us know! If not, learn to down shift!
RE: We may have won a battle here, SB 742 passed
Thanks for the breakdown. I still don't like the change! I doubt that much of that $25 will end up going to our sport. Unless it is mandated that at least half of the board come from active OHV members, there will be funds going out incorrectly.
I would love to be proved wrong, but without some ability of people paying in to oversee the spending, I see bigger troubles. I will bet that the Green's will find ways to take our money from us. There is nothing in the government that is spent for what it is collected for.
RE: Duramax Owners and Banks Equipment Question
I have installed the Edge w/ Attitude, and while towing, I did notice a 2 MPG increase in fuel economy. But that part is not of any concern to me. The power increases that the product made were well worth the money for me.
As for an intake, I don't plan on any change from stock for now. The stock assemble is good to about 500hp, and out filters all after market filters I have seen as of this time.
After market exhaust systems, I hopefully will be doing soon on my truck. I have found no bad issues, and 1 good issue(lower EGT).
RE: We may have won a battle here, SB 742 passed
How can anyone call this a win? my fees goes from $20 every two years to $125 every two years! So, instead of the wacko's getting $19 from me, they now get $30! Plus, we the people who are paying these fees don't get to choose who determines how the money is spent!
Any one who thinks that this is a good deal for us off roaders are more than welcome to pay my fees for me! This bill won't protect our interests at all. We will still loose in the end!
RE: Dish Satellite Landline Monthly Charge
Switch to Direc TV
I bet you will still have to pay a per TV fee. Direct just didn't have the dual set-ups.
Seriously.. If you can get to a phone line and force a call in it might work but that is the only way I know of.. I do not know how much luck you would have doing a dial up connection over a voIP line but I plan on trying that for some hardware I own that must phone home and can't do it over my Hughes internet account
Key word above TRYING.. I don't know how well I will succeed.
Dish logs the caller ID of the line calling from. So, if it isn't your phone number of record, I would bet that there will be flags on your account for farming out your boxes.
voIP should work, you would just have to set that phone number as primary with Dish, and don't let them know that you are on voIP, not that it would matter.
RE: Dish Satellite Landline Monthly Charge
I do not agree that DISH should have the right to charge you for a phone hook up merely to make it more convenient for them to inform you of updated PAY-PER-VIEW programs. After all, you pay to see the PAY-PER-VIEW programs, not DISH Network. One of these days there will be enough folks upset about this unjust enrichment charge to take legal action against DISH and the telephone companies.
They are not charging you for not having a phone hook up. They discount 1 TV charge per box if you have the box plugged into the telephone line that is the primary line on your account. Once a month, the boxes call into dish tv, dish logs the caller id, and probably the receiver ID, if all matches, you are good to go.
RE: Dish Satellite Landline Monthly Charge
The best way to state this, is that there is a $5 fee for any above and beyond your first TV. So if you have 4 tv's, there would be a $15 fee for the additional TV's. If you have the dual receivers, Dish TV will discount the second TV per box as long as YOUR phone line is hooked to the box. So if you have 4 tv's, with the 2 receiver box, you will on get charged $5.
What Dish is doing with this is to limit the amount of viewers sharing their boxes. Dish doesn't want me to share 3 of my receivers with my friends. There has been rumor that Dish is working on a 4 TV box.
RE: Help! Goodyear used ATF in my oil change!
How was the oil pressure?
Was it ever filled up fully?
You will have a very clean engine due to this. You might be able to send out a sample of atf for inspection. Probally be a good idea to put oil in, run it for a couple hundred miles on it, and change the oil. have that sample tested.
What is in the tranny, if there is tranny fluid in the engine?
You could have the oil pan pulled ($$$) and the bearrings inspected, and cylinder walls inspected. But at only 25 miles of drive, probally not a lot of dammage was done. keep a close watch on your oil usage, and oil pressure, that would be your first items to go.
RE: Shower Door Shattered
I use to work in the glass dept, actually did just about every job there, at a shower door manufacture. Tempered glass is some crazy stuff. Hit it in the center as hard as you can with a hammer, and nothing usally happens. Tap on the edge with something hard, and bang they blow up!
Just storing them, randomly some would just pop. No real reason that I could ever figure out.
